New insulating aerogel mortar made from recycled plastic

Scientists at Newcastle University in England have made a breakthrough insulating mortar using aerogel and recycled PET plastic (the most difficult to recycle plastic and often ending up in landfills) that reduces heat loss 55% over normal mortar while still meeting all British construction standards.
